Arla Plasky

Arla McGee Plasky, 70 of Statesville, passed away peacefully at the Gordon Hospice House, April 16, 2019 following a period of declining health.

Arla was born in Mt. Kisco, New York, the daughter of the late Frank A. and Alva G. McGee. Arla was raised in Cutchogue, Long Island, New York, graduated from Southhold High School, attended Plattsburg University, New York and graduated from Davis School of Nursing in 1978. She then faithfully served the community of Statesville as a Registered Nurse for many years.

Arla is survived by her children; Alan Plasky, Court VanHouton (Jennifer), and Tamra Gibson (George), a sister; Debra Sebastian (Paul), seven grandchildren Ozzy, Julia, Alexia, Devon, Bryce, Amberlyn and Alivia, three great-grandchildren, her adored aunt, Merlene G. Ogburn, and many cousins who she dearly loved.

There will be no formal services. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625, or to Lake Norman Humane, 110 Robinson Rd., Mooresville, NC, 28117.Online condolences may be made to the family at www.nicholsonfunerals.com.
