Virginia Majcherek

Mrs. Virginia Majcherek, 97, of Statesville, N.C., died Thursday, October 3, 2019, at Gordon Hospice House. Born August 1, 1922, in West Hammond, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Walter S. Romszewicz and Pearl B. Werkowski Romszewicz. Her husband, John J. Majcherek, preceded her in death. She moved to Statesville 4 years ago with her daughter.

She was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church, in Calumet City, IL, she was active with the church her whole life, on the Senior Choir, the Rosary Lady's Club and the Ladies of Coronado.

Survivors include two daughters, Joan E. Stone of Statesville and Virginia (Lou) Maripolsky of Thailand; one grandson, Chris (Andrea) Pictor of Indiana; a granddaughter, Brook Ochoa of Indiana; three great-grandsons, Anderson and Asher Pictor and Gabe Ochoa, all of Indiana; and a great-granddaughter, Evee Ochoa of Indiana.
