Amy Louise Puczylowski, 52, of Statesville, passed away on September 30, 2026, at the Gordon Hospice House, following a lengthy illness. Born on April 10, 1974, in Cook County, Illinois, Amy will be remembered for the quiet joys she embraced and the warmth she brought to the people who knew and loved her.

Amy was a graduate of Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, Illinois. She worked for several years at Kohl’s, where she was part of the steady rhythm of everyday life and service that so often leaves a lasting impression on others.

She found beauty and delight in many places. Amy learned to love crochet at an early age, a passion that stayed with her through the years, and she belonged to the Crochet Club at the library. She loved traveling, taking photographs, visiting art museums, and watching hockey. She was also an avid reader who loved books of every kind—old, new, and even banned books, all of them welcome in her world. These interests reflected a life attentive to creativity, curiosity, and the simple pleasures that make days meaningful.

Amy is survived by her father, Virgil Puczylowski; and by her sister, Pamela Gabler (Brock), and a niece, whose love and companionship remain part of her enduring story. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Kral Puczylowski.

Those who knew Amy will remember a woman whose life was marked by her interests, her imagination, and the comfort of familiar passions. May her memory bring tenderness to those who mourn her and gratitude to all who shared in her life.
