Brenda Dobbins also known as "Cricket" was born on May 22, 1953, in Iredell County, North Carolina. She passed away peacefully in her residence on January 20, 2026 at the tender age of 72.

Brenda was a woman of remarkable strength and independence, known for her feisty spirit and love for life itself. As the oldest of six siblings and the only girl, she exemplified a strength like no other that guided her throughout her life. Her favorite color, olive green, reflected her deep-rooted connection with nature and her "green thumb". She loved her red rose bush that thrived alongside plants from loved ones' funeral arrangements she'd planted in her yard, symbolizing her enduring love for them and their remembrance.

Professionally, Brenda dedicated many years to her work at JcPenney and Walmart, where she demonstrated diligence and commitment. Outside of work, she had a passion for making red velvet cakes, which were always baked with love and shared with all of her family and friends. An enthusiast of African-American excellence, she admired Tiger Woods and Barack Obama, clinging to their ability to obtain achievements and awards with such grace.

Brenda found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She adored her push mower and took pride in maintaining her lawn, a testament to her hardworking nature. Her home was a haven filled with warmth and love, especially for her daughter, Kimyale Dobbins, whom she cherished dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Brawley and Mildred Dobbins, and a loving circle of family members who have gone before her: Aunt Julia Ann Geters; Uncles Earl, James, and June Dobbins; brothers Bobby G. Dobbins, Robert L. Dobbins, Barry F. Banks, and Larry P. Banks; niece Shakia Banks; and nephew Bobby J. Dobbins "Bj".

Brenda is survived by her devoted daughter, Kimyale, and her adored granddaughters, Dezyale and Janiyah Allison. Her brother, William C. Banks, III (Shelia), and her aunts, Mary Dobbins and Shirley McDonald (Leon), who also hold her memory close.Brenda's legacy of resilience, love, and independence will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, reminding us all of the beauty in living life with courage and compassion.
