Byron Mason

Randall Byron Mason, 39, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 12, 2011 at his home. Mr. Mason was born October 13, 1971 in Iredell County and was the son of Randy Price Mason and Sandy Brawley Mason. He was a graduate of West Iredell High School and was disability retired from New York Carpet World where he worked as an assistant manager. Mr. Mason was an avid sports fan and he loved any kind of sport. Mr. Mason was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Tigg, his Boxer bulldog. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mason is also survived by his paternal grandparents, J.D. and Lillie Mason along with his maternal grandparents, J.D. and Colleen Brawley. He is also survived by two uncles, Mike Mason (Judy) and Brent Mason (Sheila), and one aunt Jaye Bennett (Brian), all of Statesville. He is further survived by his companion, Portland Pierre, a French bulldog. A service to celebrate the life of Byron Mason will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ben Black and Rev. Joy Mahaffey officiating.
