Connie Levesque

January 9, 1928 — May 24, 2011

Constance Jacqueline Bernier Levesque, 83, formerly of Statesville, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, in Raleigh, NC. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, Paul Denis Levesque. Connie was born January 9, 1928, in Lewiston, Maine. After graduating from Lewiston High School in 1947, she worked at Dostie's Market and Androscoggin Bank. In 1950, she and Paul were married at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston. A lifelong homemaker, Connie enjoyed many hobbies, especially sewing and knitting. She treasured her daily walks at the park. After the family moved to Statesville in 1967, Connie, a card player at heart, learned the game of bridge. One of her greatest pleasures was spending time playing cards, whether cribbage with Paul, Uno with her grandchildren, or bridge with her friends in various bridge clubs. Connie enjoyed the family's traditional summer trips to visit family and friends in Maine, particularly their days at the beach. Later, she relished spending time with her expanding family during the family's annual beach week in South Carolina. Diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in her seventies, Connie remained cheerful, bringing a delightful smile to all who encountered her. After Paul's death in November 2009, she moved to Sunrise of Raleigh, where she was cared for lovingly. Connie is survived by her four children and their families: Christine Levesque and her husband Robert Mickler of Raleigh; Ann Grasso and her husband Robert of Asheville; Katherine Levesque of Raleigh; and Steven Levesque and his fianc
