Danny Neal Elliott, born on June 20, 1955, in Mooresville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, at the VA State Home in Salisbury, North Carolina. He was 71 years old.

Danny was a dedicated and hardworking man, serving his country with honor in the United States Army before embarking on a long career as a line keeper at Denso. Beyond his professional life, Danny found joy in simple pleasures. He was an avid television viewer, with a particular fondness for war movies and NASCAR. His love for fishing offered him moments of tranquility and reflection.

He was a man who cherished his family deeply. Danny is preceded in death by his loving parents, Neal Elliott and Joyce Gilleland Elliott, his beloved daughter Melanie Blackwell, and his sister Sherry Haag. He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Sybil Tayes Elliott, who stood by his side through life's many adventures. He leaves behind his sisters Kathy Billings and Barbara Hope, his brother Barry Elliott and sister-in-law Donna, along with his sister-in-law Carol Benfield. Among his treasured family are several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Makayla Benfield, who held a unique place in his heart.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 20, at 6 PM in the chapel of Nicholson Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends following the service. Interment with military rites will take place on Tuesday, July 21, at 1:30 PM at Salisbury National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with the honors he so fully deserves.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, reflecting Danny's generous spirit and love for helping others.

Danny Neal Elliott will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his country, and the simple joys that made his life rich and full.
