Donna Grant

Donna Ann (Bustle) Grant, a cherished member of her community and beloved by her family, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, at Duke Health Lake Norman in Mooresville. Born on July 13, 1957, in Forsyth County, she graced this world for 68 years.

Donna's bright smile earned her the nickname "Sunshine" by many who were blessed by her presence.  Her deep Christian faith and her amazing ability to face her many life challenges with genuine happiness was a blessing and a lesson for all of us who were lucky enough to know and love her.  She is now "walking" in Heaven with her Savior and family who have gone on before her.

Donna devoted her life to her family as a homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with love. Her creative spirit shone through her hobbies, which included coloring, cross-stitching, knitting, and crocheting. These activities brought her joy and allowed her to share her talents with those around her.

An active member of her community, Donna was involved with the Happy Wheelers Club and the Amputee Meeting, where she found friendship and support. Her faith was an integral part of her life. She taught Sunday School and Bible School, sang beautifully in the choir, and often performed solos. As a dedicated member of the United Society of Friends Women (USFW), she enriched the lives of many with her kindness and compassion.

Donna was preceded in death by her loving parents, Grady Lee Bustle and Anna Jean Nichols Bustle, and her devoted husband of 18 years, Arthur Clay Grant.

She is survived by her sister, Lynn Phelps (Tony), and her brother, Daniel Lee Bustle (Lynn). She leaves behind her stepson, Fred Grant, and step-grandchildren, Zane and Zoe, she adored.  Also her brother in law Alec Grant(Wanda), sister in law Shelby Houchins, nieces & nephews Justin Bustle(Amanda), Brett Phelps & Jeana Phelps, great nieces & great Nephews Logan Phelps-Benfield Sophia Safley, Nolan Phelps, Sawyer Bustle & Owen Bustle who will forever cherish her memory.

A funeral service to honor Donna's life will be held at Winthrop Friends Meeting in Harmony on Saturday, May 9 at 3PM. The family will receive friends from 2-3PM prior to the service. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice or Winthrop Friends Meeting, ensuring that Donna's spirit of generosity continues to touch lives even in her absence.

May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
