Elaine Haynes Dill, 73, of Statesville, North Carolina, passed away on September 4, 2026, at Iredell Memorial Hospital following a period of declining health.
Born on May 7, 1953, in Iredell County, Elaine carried with her a caring spirit throughout her life. She was a caregiver to others, a role that reflected her compassion and her steady concern for the well-being of those around her. In death, she continued that generosity by donating her organs so that others could live, leaving behind a final gift of hope and healing.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, George Haynes and Mary Haynes, her husband, Kimrey Dill, and a sister, Almedia Church.
She is survived by her children, Anthony Shepherd (Crystal), Matthew Dill, Kimrey Shepherd, and Alicia Shepherd. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Ashley Shepherd, William Peoples, Milinna Shepherd, Chalee Cummins, eight great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Willa Swaim and Margaret Webster. Together, they shared a close family bond that remains a lasting part of her legacy. Her love for her family and her devotion to those entrusted to her care will be remembered with gratitude and affection by all who knew her.
Elaine Haynes Dill will be remembered for her kindness, her giving heart, and the quiet but meaningful ways she touched the lives of others. May her memory bring comfort to her family and to all who mourn her passing.
