Eula "Mae" Childers Sawyer, 88, of Catawba, died at her home on Monday, July 15, 2024. 

 She was born in Gaffney, S.C. on August 4, 1935, and was a daughter of the late John Washington Childers and Ellie Evelyn Spencer Childers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George M. Sawyer, who she shared 30 years of marriage and children with.

 She was an active member of Olivet Baptist Church and was the church treasurer along with multiple other activities. She enjoyed travel, she had travelled to the Holy Land, along with many other destinations and dearly loved her family. She was an HR and payroll administrator for Mack Molding in Statesville.

 Survivors include a daughter, DiAnne Sawyer and husband Paul Moore of Lake Norman,  and a son, Joe Sawyer of Catawba. Also surviving are grandchildren, Tim Sawyer and wife, Jennifer of Truckee, CA, Kristin Sawyer of San Bernardino, CA, and Jake Sawyer of Hiddenite, N.C., great-grandchildren, Cassandra and Brenden Padellford, Tanner Sawyer, Meganne Sawyer and Matt Sawyer of Truckee, CA, Sara Sawyer Raska of Helena, Montana and Logan Sawyer of San Bernardino, CA, and lastly by great-great-grandchildren, Tucker and Adaleine Grace.

 Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery in Catawba.
