Fredrick "Fred" Ray King

Fred King, 78, of Statesville died Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at his home. 

He was born in Statesville, North Carolina on August 1, 1945 to the late Ray W. King & Kathleen Johnson King.  He graduated from Scotts High School and was married to the late Frances Bagwell King, who preceded him in death in 2020.  Fred was an avid golfer, loved Carolina beach music and his beloved Tar Heels.  

Fred is survived by a son, Kenneth King (Kendra), a daughter, Kimberly Ehasz (Tye), a step-son, Daryl Brantley (Tiffany), a sister, Karen Graves (Stewart), 4 grandchildren, Tyler, Andrew, Camelia & Kaden and 3 great-grandchildren.  

A memorial service will be held Monday, January 22 at 2:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd, Statesville, NC 28625.
