G.F. was a graduate of Central High School and built a successful career as a Construction Manager, retiring from Lowes Home Improvement after more than 30 years. His commitment to his work was matched only by his passion for helping others. As a long-time member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church, G.F. embodied a spirit of humility and service, often deflecting credit for his good deeds, instead choosing to glorify God for the blessings in his life. As an honorary deacon, he was known for his warm heart and for wanting the best for everyone around him.
G.F. had a zest for life that included a multitude of interests. He cherished watching westerns and was an avid sports enthusiast, with a particular love for NASCAR and Tarheel athletics. A devoted Dale Earnhardt fan, he also took great joy in keeping the family "pond" pristine, reflecting his care for both nature and family traditions.
He leaves behind a cherished family. G.F. is survived by his children, Maleia M. Orbison of Statesville, Dayna Terblanche-Posada (Tony) of Statesville, Stephanie J. Mishoe of Statesville, and Christopher Johnson (Deidra) of Taylorsville. His legacy of love continues through his nine grandchildren: Isabella Terblanche of Statesville, Gabriella Posada of Statesville, Dante Posada of Statesville, Pepper Mishoe of Statesville, Zeke Mishoe of Statesville, Levee Courier of Statesville, Colton Johnson of Vashti, Tanisa Smith of Charlotte and Kaden Smith of Vashti. He is also survived by his special nieces and nephews.
