Gerald Burch, a compassionate soul and dedicated caregiver, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, in Statesville, North Carolina, at the age of 61. Born on November 22, 1964, in what was then West Germany, Gerald spent his formative years cultivating a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures, which he carried with him throughout his life.
Gerald devoted many years of his life to the noble calling of caregiving, offering his time and energy to ensure the well-being of others. He approached his work with a gentle heart and unwavering commitment, leaving a lasting impact on those he cared for.
A fervent fan of Classic Rock music, Gerald was known for his exceptional guitar skills, often found strumming beloved tunes that resonated with the spirit of an era he cherished deeply. His passion for music was matched by his love for film, particularly westerns, with "Lonesome Dove" being among his favorites.
Preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joe and Ann Burch, Gerald leaves behind a family who will forever hold him in their hearts. He is survived by his brothers, Mark Burch and his wife Colleen, and James Burch. His legacy continues in his nephews, Alex and his wife Stephanie, and Matthew and his wife Jessie. Gerald's warmth and kindness will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, January 12 at Oakwood City Cemetery in Statesvile.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, a cause meaningful to Gerald and his loved ones.
