Grace "Gracie" Gordon Hughes, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026, in Statesville, North Carolina, at the age of 60. Born on July 2, 1966, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Gracie was known for her kind heart and gentle spirit.

Gracie dedicated her life to caring for others as a Home Health Aide, providing comfort and support to those in need. Her compassion and dedication touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In her leisure time, Gracie found joy in listening to music, often filling her home with melodies that brought warmth and happiness to her family and friends.

Gracie is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Romance Gordon, and her dear siblings, Willie Gordon, Romeo Smith, Eugene Gordon, Charlie Gordon, Westley Smith, and Iman Smith. Her memory will continue to be cherished by her devoted husband, Barry Hughes; her loving children, Barry A. Hughes and Shonea Hughes; and her sisters, Burnell Lewis, Evelyn Gordon, Mamie Sinkler, and Eloise Cooper.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on August 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Gracie's life will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel.

Gracie will be remembered for her unwavering love, kindness, and the beautiful music she brought into the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
