Hazel Marie Colbert, 80, passed away March 9, 2020 at Pelican Nursing Home in Thomasville. Hazel worked many years as a waitress, enjoying her time with her customers. She is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn Daisy Rice, and son, James Jay Canter; sister, Helen Rice; brothers Glenn Rice, Jr., Charles, Robert, Don Rice. Mrs. Colbert is survived by her daughter, Barbara Simmons of Denton; son, Michael Canter of High Point; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Prim, Betty Wall Juanita Yarber. There are no services planned at this time.
