Hector Urban Hamel III “ Ronny” , 71, passed away August 1, 2026.

Hector was born in Union , Mississippi on August 17, 1954 to Hector Urban Hamel , Jr and Margaret Allaine Hamel. Hector proudly served his county in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. Following his honorable military service , he earned an Associates Degree in Business. He also worked at the bowling center for many years. Hector will be remembered for his faithful service to his county and lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him. Hector also had a deep love of music, which brought him great joy throughout his life.

He is preceded in death by his father, Hector Urban Hamel, Jr. of Etna , New Hampshire; brother, Louis Hamel, and sister, Carol Hamel Stewart.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Margaret Allaine McGee, stepfather, Dan McGee; sister, Susan Hamel Bradshaw; many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces , great nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 3PM on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at South River Baptist Church in Statesville with burial to follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends a half hour prior to the service .
