Imogene Overcash, 90, of Harmony, North Carolina, passed away at her home on October 4, 2026, following a period of declining health. She was born on October 14, 1935, in Iredell County, and lived a life shaped by faith, hard work, and a deep love for the simple joys of home and family.

A graduate of Harmony High School, Imogene worked as a chicken farmer, bringing steady dedication and strength to her days. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, where her faith was part of the foundation of her life. She loved to travel, and some of her happiest times were spent with her siblings as they journeyed to many states and camped together in their camper. She loved the outdoors and found pleasure in tending both flowers and vegetables. She also took pride in mowing the grass and keeping a beautiful yard, a reflection of the care she gave to all she did. In the kitchen, she was known as an excellent cook, sharing comfort and welcome through the meals she prepared.

Imogene is survived by her twin sister, Barbara Jean Overcash, and by her brother, Jesse Overcash. The bond she shared with her family was an important part of her life, and the memories they made together—especially on the road, camping and traveling—will remain treasured. May those who knew and loved her hold close the image of her in the outdoors she cherished, among the flowers and garden rows she tended so well, and in the warmth of a home shaped by her hands. Vicky Wallace and Terry Trivette were wonderful friends who will miss her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse James Overcash, and her mother, Anna Belle Shaw Overcash.

A visitation will be held on October 6, 2026, from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Rock Springs Baptist Church, 509 Rock Springs Rd., Harmony, NC 28634. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery following the funeral.

Imogene Overcash will be remembered for her enduring spirit, her love of the land, her devotion to family, and the quiet beauty she brought to everyday life.
