Israel Gourley

Mr. Israel Gourley, 41, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 4, 2014. Mr. Gourley was born February 12, 1973, in Bladen County, NC and was the son of Sylvia Dare Scott Smith and the late Steve Lambert. He was a graduate of Iredell County schools and was self employed as a plumbing subcontractor. In addition to his mother, Mr. Gourley is survived by a daughter, Amber Gourley of Statesville, three sisters, Melissa G. Colon of Jamestown, NC, Penny G. Miller of Hickory, and April G. Lockman (Wesley) of Statesville. He is also survived by two brothers, Jamie Gourley (Kessie) of Stony Point and Wayne Gourley of Estill, SC along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Gourley will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, May 8, 2014, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Milstead officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
