Jackie Thomas Robbins: A Life Well-Polished

Jackie Thomas Robbins, who graced this world on January 14, 1954, in Iredell County, NC, decided to take his final road trip on January 19, 2026, from the comfort of his own residence. At the age of 72, Jackie left us naturally, with a life as well-detailed as the cars he lovingly polished.

Jackie spent his days as an auto detailer, perfecting the art of making vehicles shine brighter than a diamond in a car lot. His passion for detailing was rivaled only by his love for antique shopping, where he could spot a hidden gem faster than you could say "Oldsmobile Cutlass." Speaking of which, Jackie's devotion to his mother's 1986 Olds Mobile Cutlass was legendary; it was said that even a speck of dust dared not settle on its pristine surface.

An animal lover at heart, Jackie adored his dogs, Zara and Sally, who were always by his side, probably wondering why they couldn't ride shotgun in the Cutlass. When not pampering his pets or polishing cars, Jackie could be found traveling to his favorite beach spots, Oak Island and Southport, where he soaked up the sun and perhaps plotted his next great antique find.

Preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Lee and Marjorie "Tokie" Cash-Robbins, and his sister, Sharon Wyatt, Jackie leaves behind a family who will miss his humor and warmth. He is survived by his partner of 36 years, Shirley Childers, who shared countless adventures and laughs with him. His daughter, Tammy Henderson, who he adored with all of his heart. His sister, Rhonda Miller (Eddie), and brothers, Scott Robbins (Debbie) and Keith Robbins (Calista), will fondly remember Jackie as the sibling who could always make them smile, even when the polish ran out.

In the end, Jackie Thomas Robbins lived a life full of love, laughter, and a little bit of wax. May his memory continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew him.
