James Arthur Goins

James “ Jimmy” Goins, 81, of Statesville NC formerly of Roderfield, WV passed away on Thursday. May 7, 2026 . Born in McDowell County, WV on December 16, 1944 he was the youngest child of the late Harvey Lee Goins and Louvenie Peters Goins.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Harvey Goins, Jr, five sisters, Thelma Brown, Alice O’Neil, Betty Coldiron, Frances ( Tom) Coleman , Helen Andrigo and Barbara ( Penny) Carter. Nephews Roger and Steve Goins , Tyrone Coleman and Randall Goins, Tiny Coleman; and Sharon Goins.

Leaving to cherish his memory is his older brother , Harold Paul Goins; 3 sons, Jerry Goins of Hanover, WV, Gary Goins of Sweetwater , TN and Jonathan Goins of Haslet Texas; 3 grandsons; 2 granddaughters; 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Family will hold a private service at a later date.
