James Allen "Jim" Lippard, born on February 9, 1936, in Statesville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, at the age of 90, at Mitchell Mack Hospice Home in Mooresville. Jim lived a life dedicated to service, both to his country and community.

He was a proud veteran, having served honorably in the United States Army where he was part of the prestigious President's Honor Guard, where marched in the inauguration parade for President John F. Kennedy. After his military service, Jim continued his commitment to serving others through a distinguished career with the United States Postal Service, eventually retiring as Postmaster after 18 years of dedicated service.

Jim was a faithful member of Beulah Baptist Church, where he served diligently as a Sunday School teacher, Deacon, Trustee, and member of the Benevolence Committee. His commitment to his community extended beyond his church as he also served on the Board of Directors for the West Iredell Water Company, Rotary Club and Lions Club.

His educational journey took him through Statesville High School and Mitchell College, experiences that shaped his lifelong values of hard work and dedication.

Jim was preceded in death by his loving parents, Robert Guy Lippard and Vernie Jane Speaks Lippard, as well as his first wife of 55 years Mary Lois West Lippard. He is survived by his wife Jo Lippard, his devoted son, James "Butch" Lippard, Jr(Sharon), his beloved daughter, Debbie Henderson(Steve), and his cherished grandchildren, Ross Henderson, Josh Henderson, Chase Lippard, and Brooke Lippard. Great grandchildren Adalyn Henderson, Emmalyn Henderson and Dwight Lippard Lingerfelt. Also, a step daughter Debbie Ellenburg(Bill).

A graveside service will be held 11AM Saturday July 11 at Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville to honor and celebrate Jim's life, officiated by Pastor James Lewis.  Mr. Lippard's body will lie in state at Nicholson Funeral Home from 2-4 on Friday July 10 for those who would like to pay their respects.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County or a charity of your choice in Jim's memory.

Jim Lippard's unwavering commitment to his family, faith, and community leaves a legacy of love and service that will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
