James "Rick" Draughn

James Richard "Rick" Draughn, 72, of Statesville died Friday, February 25, 2022 at this home.

He was born in Iredell County on May 4, 1949, to the late James I. Draughn and Ollie Myers Draughn.

Rick was retired from the City of Statesville where he worked at the Water Facility. He was formerly a member of Rose Chapel UMC and Fairview Baptist Church. Rick enjoyed riding his Harley, was a gun enthusiast and loved animals.

Survivors include four daughters, Dana Draughn (Jimmy Heckman), Melanie Parker, Lara Blackwell (Jerry), April Louzini, two grandchildren, Gavin Heckman, Allysun Heckman, a brother, Ronnie Draughn (Consuelo), a niece, Shanda Godfrey (Dwayne) and a nephew Andy Draughn (Amanda).

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022, Iredell Memorial Gardens at 3:00 pm with Pastor James Lewis officiating. Those in attendance are welcome to ride their Harleys or wear Harley Davidson attire.
