Jimmy Hall Bennett, a devoted family man passed away on July 3, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on January 23, 1955, he lived a life marked by dedication, service, and a deep love for those around him.
Mr. Bennett was the beloved husband of Anita Adams Bennett, with whom he built a life rich in love and family. He leaves behind a legacy through his children: son Kandense Adams and Jimmy Maurice McDowell; daughters Chasity Adams Edmonds (Ricky), Selicity Nichols (Anthony), Felicity Brayboy (Norris), and Tenneanya Turner. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with nieces and nephews that will remember him as a guiding light and a source of endless stories and wisdom.
A man of varied interests, Mr. Bennett found joy in bowling, playing pool, and engaging in spirited games of spades. His voice could often be heard proclaiming "Praise the Lord," or reminding others that "Young men have visions... Old men prophesied."
Mr. Bennett proudly served his country as an Auto Mechanic in the United States Marines, where he earned the Rifle Expert Badge and the National Defense Service Medal. After his honorable service, he pursued entrepreneurship by owning and operating Bennett Logging, a business that embodied his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
A faithful member of Zion Chapel AME Zion Church, Mr. Bennett was known for his deep spirituality and unwavering faith, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Clemmons Bennett and Mrs. Essie Mae Poole Bennett, as well as by his sister Sandra Kay Bennett, brothers Romie (Sonny) Bennett, Harrison (Fox) Bennett (Marie), Larry Poole, son-in-law Darien Turner, nephew Travis Bennett, and two niece Shannon (Nikki) Valentine & Trevia Keaton Robinson.
In addition to his immediate family, Mr. Bennett is survived by his sisters Jackie Payne, Patricia Keaton, Paulette Jones, and Melissa Ferguson, who will cherish his memory and the times they shared.
A service celebrating the life of Jimmy Hall Bennett will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Zion Chapel AME Zion Chapel. The visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the service at 12:00 noon. On Tuesday, July 14, 2026 Jimmy will Lie-In-State at Nicholson Funeral Home from 9am until 4pm. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Mr. Bennett are invited to come together to honor a life well-lived.
Though he has left this earthly realm, the spirit of Jimmy Hall Bennett will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
