Julie Anne Pickard, of Statesville a beloved family matriarch and dedicated healthcare professional, passed away peacefully in her home on May 23, 2025, just days shy of her 81st birthday. Born on May 26, 1944, in Syracuse, New York, Julie led a life marked by compassion and service.

For an impressive 48 years, Julie worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), a career that brought her immense pride and fulfillment. Her commitment to nursing exemplified her compassionate nature, and she was tirelessly dedicated to the well-being of her patients. In addition to her nursing career, Julie took great joy in creating ceramics and running the kiln, showcasing her creative talents and attention to detail.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Julie found happiness in her hobbies, which included a deep love for flowers and flower gardening. She nurtured her garden with the same care she extended to her patients, creating a vibrant oasis filled with blooms. Julie also enjoyed reading and knitting, pastimes that allowed her to relax and express her creativity. While living in New York, Julie was a member of the Catholic Church, After moving to Arizona, and later to North Carolina,  she enjoyed attending a non-denominational church. 

Julie is survived by her daughter, Linda Carter (Kim); three grandchildren, Thomas Pickard (Kaila), Sierra Bartlett, and Alexis Bartlett; and two great-grandchildren, Stella Bacon and Alayna Packard. She leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love that will endure through her family.

Julie is preceded in death by her father, William Arthur Pearse; her mother, Regina Elizabeth Mors Pearse; and her husband, Thomas M. Pickard. Her passing is a profound loss to all who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire through the lives of her loved ones. She will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and unyielding dedication to family and profession.

A graveside service will be held in Mesa, Arizona.
