Linda Ayers Taylor, aged 75 of Statesville, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, at Gordon Hospice House. Born on August 13, 1950, in Newport News, Virginia, Linda was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Linda worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart, where her warm smile and kind nature touched the lives of many customers and colleagues. Outside of work, she found joy in gardening, nurturing vibrant flowers and painting. Her love for Jesus was evident in her life and actions, and she was a devoted member of Yadkin Baptist Church in Statesville.

Preceded in death by her parents, Heber Ayers Jr. and Evelyn Morgan Ayers, son-in-law Charles Shores, and grandson Jonathan Shores, Linda's memory will be cherished by those she leaves behind. She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, James Taylor; her daughter, Ruth Shores(Larry Dashney); her son, Jason Rock. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Angel Rock, Brittney Shores, Josh Shores (Brittany), and Jennifer Kiger (Austin);her step-daughter, Cathy Cover. her stepsons: J.C. Taylor (Tammy), Johnny Taylor, Jerry Taylor (Susan), and Jackie Taylor; her sister, Barbara Jenkins; and her brother, Steven Ayers. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry her spirit forward.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. James Foxworthy and the staff of Gordon Hospice House for their compassionate care over the years.

Funeral services to honor Linda's life will be held on Thursday, December 4, at 2 PM at Yadkin Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather from 1-2 PM at the church for visitation prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Iredell County by clicking here , ensuring that others can receive the same comforting care Linda did in her final days.

Linda will be remembered for her radiant smile, her unwavering faith, and the love she shared with everyone she met. She will be dearly missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
