Margaret Clestine Cannon Kimberlin, 83, of Harmony, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011, at Gordon Hospice House following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Kimberlin was born September 28, 1927 in Caldwell County and was the daughter of the late Carl J. Cannon and Lula Barber Cannon. Mrs. Kimberlin was a graduate of Hudson High School and she attended Gardner Webb University. Mrs. Kimberlin was married to Rev. Bill Kimberlin, who preceded her in death in 1983. She worked as a choir director for the churches that Bill was pastor. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Kimberlin was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Diane Kimberlin, along with two sisters, Ruby Bean and Laura Jane Pruitt. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, J.C. Cannon and Coy W. Cannon. Mrs. Kimberlin is survived by one sister, Pauline C. Shields (Cecil) and a sister-in-law, Nadine Morris (Tom), both of Granite Falls, N.C. She is also survived by special friends, Harold Lundy of Statesville and Willene Johnson of Harmony along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Kimberlin will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Darren Johnson and Rev. Henry Cook officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 until 11:00 am Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow at 2:30 pm Tuesday in the Yadkin Baptist Church Cemetery in Patterson, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, N.C. 28625, or to Hebron Baptist Church, 175 Hebron Road Statesville, NC 28625, or to Yadkin Baptist Church, 2044 Roby Martin Road, Patterson, NC 28661.
