Margaret Mary Thompson

Margaret Mary Thompson, 79, of Statesville died Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Fayette County West Virginia, on Christmas Day of 1944 to the late Herbert Thompson and Mary Crouse Thompson. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Nelson, a brother, Andrew Thompson, and a grandson, Bobby Nelson, her 1st husband and father of her children Jerry Nelson & her 2nd husband John Williamson. 

Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Jerry Nelson (Vanessa), a daughter,  Lisa Blankschen (Robert), seven grandchildren, Jessica Vain (John), Kristen Watts (James), Rusty Jeffries (Amanda), Timothy Jeffries (Rene), Corey Blankschen, Robert Blankschen, Natasha Blankschen, 13 great-grandchildren, Jakob Blankschen, Lukas Blankschen, Noah Blankschen, Tatiana Holmes, Madelyn Nelson, Christopher Vain, Aubree Fowler, Ethan Watts, Alyssa Watts, Skyler Jeffries, Bentley Adkins, Haven Adkins, Emileah Adkins, two brothers, Herbert Thompson (Judy), Mark Thompson (Angel), and two sisters, Carolyn Ramey (Bud), and Jean Ann Wilson (Jimmy).

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Fairview Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Gordon officiating. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 to 1:00 at the church prior to the service.  The second memorial service will be Saturday May 4, 2024 @ 1 pm at Sun Full Gospel Church, 511 Sun Road, Sun WV. She will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, WV.
