Marie Honeycutt Kimmer, 98, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2026.
Marie was born on February 12, 1928 to the late Ernest Lee Honeycutt and Ada Denton Honeycutt. Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and faithful servant of the Lord.
Marie was united in marriage to Reverend Tross Kimmer on December 28, 1946. They shared a loving marriage until his passing in 2005. As the wife of a pastor, Marie devoted much of her life to serving alongside her husband and supporting the church and those in their community.
She was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Her love for the Lord and her dedication to teaching and helping others touched the lives of many.
Marie was also a talented seamstress and was affectionately known as “the preacher’s wife seamstress.” She took great pride in her sewing and used her talent to serve and bless others.
Marie will be remembered for her strong faith, kind heart, and the love and devotion she gave to her family, her church, and all those whose lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, and love that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest Lee Honeycutt and Ada Denton Honeycutt, her beloved husband ,Reverend Tross Kimme, son, Ronnie Kimmer and daughter, Carol Kimmer.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Anthony Kimmer ( Remy), Tross Kimmer ( Ann) and Keith Kimmer (Joni) ; daughters, Joy McCallister (Paul) , Renae Richard (Harold) and Cynthia Kimmer; 23 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren , 9 great great grandchildren, and many more family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 from 2PM till 3PM at Nicholson Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 3:30PM at Faith Church Cemetery located at 403 Barry Oak Road , Statesville, NC 28625.
