Marilyn Lee Lackey

Marilyn Lee Parker Lackey, a beloved wife and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born on April 16, 1951, in Statesville, North Carolina, she was 74 years old at the time of her passing.

Marilyn devoted her professional life to the textile industry, where she served with distinction for 25 years.  Her career included significant roles at Hanes, Sara Lee and Bali, where she retired as Personnel Director.  Her dedication and commitment left a lasting impact on her colleagues and the industry.

Throughout her life, Marilyn found spiritual fulfillment in her faith, attending Methodist and Baptist churches, which were an essential part of her journey.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Michael Lackey, whose love and support were her constant companions.  She also leaves behind her godson, Shane Campbell, and her loyal dachshund, Jake, who brought her endless joy and comfort.

A celebration of Marilyn's life will take place at 12 noon on Saturday, October 25, in the Chapel at Nicholson Funeral Home.  Family and friends are invited to gather and share in remembrance, with the family receiving guests one hour prior to the service.

Marilyn will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished forever in the hearts of her loved ones.
