Mr. Mark Dwayne Sloan, 64, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026. Born on April 20, 1962, Mark was the son of the late Thomas Wayne Sloan and Carolyn Madison. A lifelong member of the community, he graduated from North Iredell High School and went on to dedicate many years of service to the City, where he worked in the Sanitation Department until his retirement.

Mark enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and found his greatest happiness outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing and treasured every opportunity to spend time in nature. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love for the outdoors.

During his illness, Mark was lovingly cared for by his former wife, Denise Sloan, whose compassion, kindness, and unwavering support brought him comfort during a difficult time.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents and son, Logan Sloan

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Blake Sloan; former wife, Denise Sloan; step-mother, Betty Sloan; sister, Lisa Williams; step- sister, Kelley Steele; step brothers, Darren Steele and Bradley Steele; nephews Jake Williams and J.T. Williams.
