Marsha Deal Cartner passed away Friday, May 23, 2025. 

Marsha was born in Iredell county on July 4, 1938 to the late James Howard Deal and Maude Jordan Deal. She worked at Southern Screw Company for many years before working as a bank teller at First American Bank. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Marsha married Mr. Richard Neil Cartner Sr. “Sonny” in 1967. They enjoyed dancing, riding in their classic cars and spending time at the beach with family. They spent over 48 happy years together until his passing in 2015. Marsha, an elegant woman, took pride in her appearance and enjoyed having her hair and nails done. Marsha was a woman of faith and loved the Lord, Marsha and Sonny attended Clarksbury Methodist Church in Harmony when their children were young. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, children, Danny Lee Clendenin and Richard Neil Cartner Jr., sister, Linda Crawford.

 Left to cherish her memory is her son, Timothy Carson Clendenin ( Annedrea); daughter, Kimberly Carol Cartner ; grandchildren, Taylor Clendenin Foushee (Jordan) Casey Clendenin Cockerham (Ryan), Allison Cartner McCleveland (Phillip) and Ava Danielle Cartner; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Carol Stevenson and Sue Lowery; brother, Sammy Deal (Jane); brother-in-law, Wesley Crawford; son-in-law, Rick Hyatt and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Autumn Care and The Gardens, both of Statesville, for the many years of care they provided.
