Martin Ray Hall, 86, of Mooresville, passed away on September 18, 2026, following a period of declining health.

Born on February 17, 1940, in Iredell County, North Carolina, Martin lived a life marked by service, kindness, and deep devotion to the people he loved. He was a graduate of Statesville High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force for nine years. After his military service, he worked for the Post Office for many years, building a career defined by steady dedication and commitment.

Martin will be remembered as a man who never met a stranger. He had a great sense of humor, always had a joke to share, and loved to have fun. His warm and welcoming nature made others feel at ease, and his compassion was evident in the way he cared for those around him. He was a good father, deeply devoted to his mother, and took wonderful care of her and of those he loved. His life reflected a generous spirit and a sincere concern for others.

He was of the Methodist faith and carried that faith with quiet constancy throughout his life. He also enjoyed cheering on his favorite team as an avid Gamecocks fan, a simple pleasure that brought him much enjoyment over the years.

Martin is survived by his son, Marty Hall (Debra Lynne), his daughter, Tina Hall, and a brother, Aubrey Dennis Hall. In them, and in the love he gave so freely, his memory will continue to live on.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Aubrey Hall, his mother, Ruby Ellen Ferguson Hall, and his wife, Shirley Lois Marsh Hall. He was also preceded in death by his beloved dog, Sherpa.

Martin Ray Hall will be remembered with affection for his humor, his compassion, and the faithful way he cared for his family and friends. His life touched many, and his memory will be cherished by those who knew and loved him.

A private service was held.
