Marvin Lee Gore, 59, of Statesville, a beloved member of his family, passed away on November 8, 2025, at Mill Creek Manor, following a period of declining health. Born on December 11, 1965, in Southport, North Carolina, Marvin grew up to be the caring and loving man that many knew him to be.
A proud graduate of West Brunswick High School in Shallotte, NC, Marvin dedicated his career to golf course maintenance, where his hard work and commitment left a lasting impression on both colleagues and patrons alike. Known for his sweet demeanor and sense of humor, he brought joy to those around him and built meaningful connections throughout his life. Family was of utmost importance to Marvin, and he was devoted to his loved ones, always taking the time to express his love and support.
Marvin's warmth extended beyond his family; he had a wide range of interests and hobbies that included collecting coins and baseball cards. Additionally, he enjoyed the thrill of panning for gold, often sharing these moments with those close to him.
Marvin is survived by his two nieces, Jennifer Fisher and Cherie Witt, both of Ash, NC, as well as a nephew, Chris Gore of Nakina, NC. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Lee Gore; mother, Betty Marie Tripp Gore; and brother, Norman Marshall Gore.
Marvin Lee Gore will be dearly missed for his kindness, laughter, and the love he fiercely shared with those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of devotion to family and friendship will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
