Mary Ann Johnson

Mary Ann Johnson, 72, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born on April 24, 1944 in Morrisville, PA to the late Lionel J. and Phyllis Dangler Williams. Mrs. Johnson was married to Ralph Ronald Johnson who preceded her in death in 1969. She was a homemaker who took pride in raising her son, Wally. Mary Ann loved nature, her dogs, and bird watching. She was a Nascar fan who rooted for Dale Earnhart, Sr. and later his son, Junior. She was a good hearted woman who helped a lot of people. Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Walter "Wally" Vernon Johnson of Statesville and William Charles Hornbostel of Texas; two grandsons, Bradley Lyda of Statesville and Griffin Hornbostel of Texas; a granddaughter, Samantha Hornbostel of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Linda Vurlong and Debbie Dangler Britton, both of New Jersey; a brother, Lionel J. Williams, III of Virginia; a half-brother, Skip Dangler of New Jersey; and a number of nieces and nephews. A Gathering of friends will be held Tuesday evening, Oct. 25, 2016 at Nicholson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 7:30 pm.
