Mary Katherine Ball, aged 87, of Statesville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2026. Born on December 2, 1938, in Montpelier, Ohio, Mary Katherine led a life marked by dedication, compassion, and a deep love for her family, church and community.

A retired registered nurse, Mary devoted many years to caring for others with kindness and professionalism. She also proudly served her country in the United States Air Force, demonstrating her commitment and patriotism.

Mary was an avid reader, a passionate gardener, and had a profound interest in genealogy, cherishing the stories and heritage of her family. She was a faithful member of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church, where her spirit and faith were a source of strength and comfort.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leslie Ball; her father, Forrest Fisher; and her mother, Gertrude Teats Fisher.

Mary is survived by her sons, James Faircloth and his wife Elizabeth, and Jeff Faircloth; and her grandchild, Ash Faircloth, who will carry forward her legacy of love and devotion.

Services to honor Mary’s life will be held at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church, with the date and time to be determined. Pastor William Ketchie will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Gordon Hospice House, 2341 Simonton Rd, Statesville, NC 28625, in memory of Mary Katherine’s compassionate spirit.
