Mary Elizabeth Brewer Booth, of Statesville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of 52 years, the late Chester Clay Booth, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Born in Kentucky, Mary always held a special place in her heart for her hometown of Campton. No matter where life took her, returning to the hills she loved brought her joy and a sense of home. Mary dedicated her life to her family, finding her greatest happiness in being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She lovingly cared for her family throughout her life and found her greatest fulfillment in the time they spent together. Family trips, holidays, and visits back home to Campton were among her happiest moments. Anyone who knew Mary knew she was never at a loss for words. She had an unforgettable personality, a contagious laugh, and a gift for telling stories that could keep everyone entertained for hours. She loved making people laugh and had a way of making everyone she met feel like an old friend. If you were fortunate enough to meet Mary, you never forgot her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chester Clay Booth; her mother Autney Brewer, brothers, Jack Brewer, and Charles Arthur Brewer of Campton, Kentucky sister Judy Swann and her great-grandsons, Dallas Booth and Blake Faett.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Kenneth Booth (Lori) of Jackson, Michigan, and Charles Booth (Tara) of Statesville, North Carolina; her daughter, Kathy Miller (Randy) of Statesville, North Carolina ; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Mary's greatest legacy is the love she poured into her family and the countless memories she created with them. Her laughter, stories, warm heart, and larger-than-life personality will live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. While she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that every story shared and every laugh enjoyed, will keep her memory alive for generations to come.

The family finds comfort in knowing that Mary’s sweetest reunion was waiting for her in Heaven. Chester opened his arms and softly asked, “Mary, is that you?” Her familiar reply “Huh?” was followed by a smile as they embraced once again and are walking hand in hand through Heaven’s golden streets, forever reunited.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Monday, August 3, 2026 at Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tony Horne officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
