Michael Lee Huff, 59, of Statesville, beloved son, husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence on July 5, 2026. Born on June 22, 1967, in Bethesda, Maryland, Michael’s life was defined by devotion to his family, dedication to his work, and a contagious love of life’s simple pleasures.
Michael leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory always. He is survived by his mother, Diane Setzer Pemberton; his children, Landon Michael Huff (Silvia), Cole Anthony Prichard, Morgan Alise Huff, and Mal Prichard; his brothers, Jim Pemberton (Lois) and Mark Pemberton, (Carrie), and his parents-in-law, Louis and Pamela Lindley. Michael was predeceased by his father, Richard Lee Huff, and his step-father, Martin Pemberton. The deep bond he shared with each family member will endure as a testament to the warmth and strength he brought to their lives.
A proud graduate of North Iredell High School, class of 1985, Michael furthered his education at Mitchell Community College and also attended Western Carolina University. His thirst for learning and growth was matched by an unwavering work ethic. Michael dedicated many years to Sumter Packaging—formerly known as Iredell Container Corporation—serving as both office and plant manager. His leadership and commitment were universally respected and made a positive impact on all who worked with him.
Throughout his life, Michael cultivated a variety of interests that brought him great joy. Whether he was sharing Tik Tok reels, trying out new recipes, or putting his skills to use cooking and grilling, Michael’s enthusiasm for these passions was contagious. He gained particular delight in building model airplanes, playing golf, and celebrating the thrill of Miami Dolphins football games. He was also an avid fan of rock music and deeply appreciated time spent at the range with his collection of firearms. He was of the Baptist faith.
Among all his achievements, Michael’s greatest source of pride was his family. He cherished every moment spent together, creating lasting memories through simple gatherings and shared laughter. In recent years, he extended his caring nature by dedicating himself to the needs of his aging parents, offering them support and comfort when they needed it most.
Those who knew Michael remember him for his steady character, generous heart, and quiet humility. His absence will be deeply felt, but his many contributions—both large and small—have left an indelible mark.
A funeral service will be held Monday, July 13, 2026 at Western Avenue Baptist Church at 7:00 pm with Pastor Brian Burgess officiating. The family will visit with friends and family from 5:00 pm until 6:45 pm at the church prior to the service..
Though Michael’s journey has drawn to a close, the love he shared and the legacy he leaves behind will be treasured by all whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal gratitude and affection of those who loved him.
