Nancy “Nan” Ann Shepperd Ward, 89, of Troutman, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 25, 2025 with her family nearby.
Nan was born on November 14, 1935 in Denver, Colorado to the late Parker Dunnica Shepperd and Katherine Vaught Shepperd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Martin “Marty” Dier Ward in 1996, her daughter, Kimberly Taylor Gallyon in 1999, and her sister Jane Shepperd.
Nan dedicated over 30 years of her career to working as a real estate broker in the Iredell and Charlotte areas. She was also an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in Statesville. In her leisure time, she enjoyed buying and selling antiques with her husband, Marty, always eager to discover unique treasures together.Those left to cherish her memory include two loving daughters, Katherine (John Pistolessi) Taylor and Monica (Gregory) Carranco; six grandchildren, Bradley Parker (Ashley) Burnett, Blake (Cristina) Kennedy, Parker (Kelsie) Carranco, Laura Feinleib, Taylor Gallyon, and Leanna Feinleib; six great-grandchildren, Norah, Colette, Braiden, Leo, Asa, and Frankie; son-in-law, Chuck Gallyon; sister, Marnie Shepperd; two lifelong friends, Beverly Butterbrodt and Wilma Moore, and a beloved cat, Murphy.
Her strong spirit and unwavering love will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Services will be held privately.
