Patsy Virginia Day, 91, went to be home with the Lord on Friday, July 3, 2026, in Statesville, North Carolina.

Born in Johnson City, Tennessee, to William Jackson Williams and Mary Belle Grinstead Williams, Patsy was the youngest of eight children and the last surviving member of her family. She was a graduate of East Tennessee State University and earned her Master's Degree in Audiology from Vanderbilt University in 1958.

Patsy lived a life of selfless compassion, always seeking opportunities to encourage and serve those around her. She devoted her career to working with hearing-impaired children in the school system, where her patience and kindness touched countless lives.

In her later years, Patsy continued serving others through volunteer work. She faithfully taught Sunday school at Western Avenue Baptist Church, where she was a devoted member, and regularly visited nursing home residents to brighten their days with conversation and laughter.

God was the center of Patsy's life. She lived out her faith through service, generosity, and a deep commitment to studying God's Word. If she knew someone was in need, she did everything within her power to help.

Those who knew Patsy will always remember her beautiful smile and infectious sense of humor. No matter the circumstance, her warmth, wit, and kindness had a way of lifting the spirits of everyone she met.

Patsy is survived by her son, Kent Day, and his wife, Donna, as well as her beloved grandson, Evan Day.

A memorial service will be conducted by Rusty McLelland at Nicholson Funeral Home at 11 AM, Monday, July 13, 2026. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service A private burial in Virginia will be held at a later date.
