Pearl Mundhenke

Pearl Henkel Mundhenke, 90, of Statesville, NC died on Sunday, April 3, 2011 after a brief period of declining health. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Pearl Verna Lee was born December 10, 1920 in Farley, Iowa. She was the only child of the late Alvina Louise "Ollie" and Emil George Henkel. In 1938, Pearl graduated from high school in Hopkinton, Iowa and completed her education at the Bayless Business College in Dubuque, Iowa. On November 11, 1945, in Dubuque, Iowa, Pearl married Wilbur LeRoy "Mun" Mundhenke of East Dubuque, Illinois. During their 59 years of marriage while living in Statesville and raising their five daughters, they shared the challenges and successes of a poultry business.
