Randall Lee Thomas, Jr., born on January 12, 1979, in Mullins, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, at the age of 47.

Randall was a man whose hands told the story of his life—strong, skilled, and dedicated to the craft he loved. As an auto mechanic, he found joy in working on cars, both old and new, treating each vehicle like a canvas where he could express his passion and expertise. His love for tools and the art of mechanics was rivaled only by his love for the open water. Randall spent countless hours fishing, finding peace and inspiration in nature's embrace.

A native of West Virginia, Randall cherished every visit back to his roots, where stories of his beloved grandmother Betty and Charlie filled the air. He held his family close, especially treasuring the quilt finished by his mother—a tangible symbol of her love and care—that kept him warm throughout his life.

Randall attended West Iredell High School and later pursued his GED at Mitchell College, demonstrating his commitment to personal growth and education. His resilience and determination were evident in all aspects of his life.

Preceded in death by his father, Randall Lee Thomas, Sr., and mother, Drema Gail Mills Thomas, Randall leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication. He is survived by his devoted wife of 17 years, Linda Lee Thomas; two sons by marriage, Matthew and Marcus Shoemaker; a granddaughter, Zaria Shoemaker; and a grandson, Dominick Shoemaker. His brother, Rocky Thomas (Amanda), nephews Brandon Bryant and Austin Thomas, uncles Larry and Alvin Thomas, and cousins Jason Thomas (fiancé, Shana Wilhelm), Maddox Thomas, Willie Lambert, and Riley Lambert also carry forward his memory.

Though Randall had no children of his own, he embraced his role as a father and grandfather with open arms, pouring his love and wisdom into those around him.

A celebration of Randall's life will take place in the spring of next year, where he will be laid to rest alongside his mother at John Riley Shrewsbury Cemetery in Mullins, West Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Honor Bridge Organ Donations, honoring Randall's generosity and spirit of giving.

Randall Lee Thomas, Jr.'s life was a testament to hard work, family devotion, and the pursuit of passion. He will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
