Richard Todd Waugh

Richard Todd Waugh, born on October 8, 1972, in Iredell County, has decided to take his talents to the great beyond as of January 19, 2026, at the age of 53. He left this world from Statesville, NC, likely wearing his favorite Pittsburgh Steelers jersey and dreaming of one last jackpot at the Cherokee casino.

Richard spent his days working at Custom Products in Statesville, where he was known for his dedication and perhaps a few too many football-related water cooler conversations. Yet, it was his love for his family that truly defined him. He cherished his daughters, Nicole and Briana, with all his heart, and his three grandchildren, Nizaiah Connor, Kayden McCleave, and Zyler Waugh, were the apples of his eye.

Preceded in death by his parents, William Walter Waugh and Linda Faye Jolly Waugh, as well as his sister Angela Sharpe and brother Terry Waugh, Richard is survived by his brother Randy Waugh. His legacy also lives on through several nieces and nephews: Kelsey Waugh, Wesley Sharpe, Dustin Sharpe, and a very special niece, Faith Waugh.

Though Richard's time on Earth has come to an end, we can be sure he's found a heavenly recliner from which to cheer on the Steelers and regale the angels with tales of his casino adventures. Services to celebrate Richard's life will be announced soon. In the meantime, raise a glass, place a bet, or simply hug your loved ones a little tighter in his honor.
