Ronald Anthony Blackburn, born on March 8, 1962, in Statesville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, at Atrium Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. At the age of 64, Ronald leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and cherished memories.

A dedicated and proud veteran, Ronald retired from the United States Navy, having served his country with distinction as a Quartermaster. His time in the Navy was marked by a commitment to duty and honor, values he carried throughout his life.

Ronald was a man of many passions. An avid reader, he found joy in immersing himself in the thrilling worlds crafted by authors such as James Patterson and Stephen King. His love for football was equally fervent, as he could often be found cheering for his beloved Dallas Cowboys, sharing both the triumphs and challenges of the team with those around him.

In 1980, Ronald graduated from Statesville High School, where he was recognized as a standout football player, showcasing his athletic talent and team spirit.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Summers and Peggy Blackburn Glover. Ronald’s memory will be forever cherished by his daughter, Rondaisia Blackburn, and her spouse Regina; his son, Malcolm Blackburn; his brothers, Tony Glover (Tasha) and Conrad Glover; his sisters, Christine Glover and Cynthia Gray; and his beloved grandchildren, Isaiah, Sean, Myles, and Khloe. His family and friends will dearly miss his presence, wisdom, and kindness.

A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery, where Ronald will be laid to rest with the dignity befitting a veteran of his stature.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, honoring Ronald’s memory and supporting a cause close to his heart.

May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
