Rosa Shoemaker Denny, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at her home in Statesville, NC, at the age of 88. Rosa was born on January 5, 1937, in Statesville, NC, and was welcomed into the arms of God after a life that inspired those around her with love, kindness, and dedication.

Rosa spent many years as a supervisor in the manufacturing industry, where she garnered respect for her leadership and commitment to her work. Beyond her professional life, Rosa found joy in simple pleasures. Whether bowling in leagues and tournaments or enjoying a game of cards, Rosa's life was full of enthusiasm and cheer. Yet, her heart and soul truly belonged to her family, whom she cherished deeply.

She is preceded in death by her devoted mother, Lelia Josey Shoemaker; loving father, Rome Shoemaker; brothers Buck and Roy Josey; and sisters Willa Mae Austin and Elizabeth "Sis" McLelland. Their memories stayed close to her heart throughout her life.

Rosa's legacy lives on through her husband of 70 years, Kenneth Madison Denny, with whom she built a life filled with love and strength. Her spirit continues through her daughters, Karen Denny Dowell (Terry) and Starlene "Star" Denny Huffman (Jeff). Rosa was a proud grandmother to Shane Staley, Beth Huffman, and Amber Huffman, and a cherished great-grandmother to Emma Rose Staley and Hope Yvonne Huffman. Special family friend Kelly Staley was like family to Rosa and held a special place in her heart.

Early in life, Rosa found faith attending the Presbyterian church, which laid the foundation for her compassionate and giving nature. Her presence was a blessing to all who knew her, illuminating countless lives with her grace and warmth.

A graveside service to honor Rosa Shoemaker Denny will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Iredell Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will gather to celebrate a life well-lived, one that radiated love and left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
