Shelvie Jean Blansett

Shelvie Jean England Blansett, 75 of Statesville, died Friday, January 10, 2025, at her home following an illness.

She was born in Welch, West Virginia on July 29, 1949, to the late Lacy Garrett England and Gladys Benge.

Shelvie enjoyed working and keeping busy. Some of her jobs through the years include owning and operating B&M Cleaning Service, Beauty Maid Mills, being a hairdresser, and working for the schools. She also attended Mitchell Community College where she earned her degree in Criminal Law and Justice. She was of the Baptist faith. More than anything, she loved her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Bryan Blansett and James Blansett, Jr., and three sisters, Deb, Delores Monk, and Beulah Walker, of WV, brothers, Jack England, of Statesville, Buford England, of Moorestown TN,  along with several grandchildren; Cody Blansett, Jordan Blansett, Justin Blansett, Victoria Blansett, Laci Blansett, Cheyanne Blansett, a handful of  great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 18,2025, beginning at 2 pm, at Victory Baptist Church in Statesville, NC. Pastor Ike Branham will be officiating.
