Shirley Barnes

Shirley Jean Long Barnes, 75, of Wilkesboro, N.C., passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011. Mrs. Barnes was born December 1, 1935 in Kanaw County, W.Va. and was the daughter of the late Raymond Lawrence Long and Anna Marie Louise Polly Long. She attended Houges Creek School and was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Barnes is survived by a son, Richard Beckett (Sheila) of Statesville; one grandson, Joshua Beckett of Hickory, N.C.; three granddaughters, Summer Davis of Atlanta, GA, Maria Beckett of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Amber Beckett of Statesville, along with 11 great-grandchildren.
