It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sue Harmon Cranford, who departed this life on August 8, 2025, in Iredell County, NC, at the age of 89. Born on May 20, 1936, Sue lived a life filled with love, laughter, and inspiration.

Sue was a beacon of creativity and joy to all who knew her. As the Head Gnome Painter at the Tom Clark Gnome Company, she brought whimsy and vibrancy to her work, leaving behind a legacy of artistic beauty. Her career path also included becoming a licensed Cosmetologist, where she further shared her talents and kindness with others.

Her faith was an integral part of her life. She loved nature and was known for her great sense of humor and her unwavering confidence, especially when she sang her favorite songs.

Sue was an avid reader, a lover of coloring, and found joy in electronic games. She thrived in the company of friends and family, always ready to share laughter and stories. Sue never missed an opportunity to dance, embodying a spirit of joy and resilience.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Troy Grant Harmon and Lillian Ruth McLelland Harmon, as well as her grandson, Damien Damask. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she leaves behind.

Sue's memory will be cherished by her devoted husband, Richard Darrell Cranford, her loving children, Steven Cranford (Tracy), Jill Brannon (Bill), and Janeen Gilchrist. She is also survived by her brothers, Troy "TG" Harmon and Bob Harmon; her grandchildren, Jake Brannon, Vince Cranford, Abbey Gilchrist; and her bonus grandchildren, Keegan Preece and Kenner Preece.

A Gathering of Friends to celebrate Sue's life will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon at Nicholson Funeral Home. During this time, we will honor her legacy of love, laughter, and light.

Sue Harmon Cranford's life was a testament to the beauty of kindness, creativity, and profound gratitude. Her spirit will forever inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

She was loved.
