Sylvia Mayberry Wilkerson

Mrs. Sylvia Mayberry Wilkerson, 72, of Statesville, died Friday, December 15, 2017 in an automobile accident. Born in Iredell County on September 2, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Marvin William Mayberry and Elizabeth Litaker Mayberry. On March 19, 1966, she married Mr. Herby Edward Wilkerson who survives. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Wilkerson Lane. Sylvia was retired from Asmo and was a member of the True Vine Worship Center. She attended Wayside School and Cool Springs High School. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Johnny Lee Wilkerson and Herby (Eddie) Wilkerson, Jr. and daughters: Tammy Lambert (Tony) and Dorothy Kay Wilkerson along with a son-in-law, Joe Lane. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joshua Bunton officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
