Virginia Ellis Harris died on September 18, 2026, at her home following a short illness. She was 97.

Born on May 20, 1929, in Syracuse, New York, Virginia spent most of her life in the city where she was born, carrying with her the quiet constancy of home and family that would define her days. She was a homemaker, and in that role, she gave the enduring gifts of care, steadiness, and devotion—gifts that often shape a family’s life in lasting ways. In time, she moved to Statesville to be with her son, a reflection of the close family ties that remained at the heart of her life.

Virginia will be remembered with love by her family. She is survived by her sons, Stephen and his wife, Barbara; David and his wife, Natalia; a daughter-in-law, Sophie Harris, and several grandchildren, who carry forward her memory as part of the family she cherished. The bonds among them stand as part of her lasting legacy, shaped by years of love, presence, and shared life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Scott Harris and a daughter, Cindy Harris.

Virginia Ellis Harris leaves behind a life marked by home, family, and enduring affection. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
