Shirley Ann Payne

January 21, 1951 - February 26, 2022

Shirley Ann Wimbish Payne, 71, of Stony Point, died Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia on January 21, 1951 to the late William Wimbish and Helen Bradshaw Wimbish. Shirley was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and of the Outreachers Sunday School Class. She loved her church family, especially the members of her Sunday School Class and enjoyed spending time with them. She had worked for many years at the JC Penney Distribution Center and was also a caregiver in her later years. She was a great mother. She is survived by her son, Kenny Payne, and many friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, March 7, 2022, at 6:00 pm at Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Eanes and Rev. Paul Hill officiating.
